Privacy Policy
Effective August 25, 2026
Rolltake collects no data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers. The app makes no network connections at all.
Your scripts stay on your device
Everything you write or import in Rolltake is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. If you delete the app, its data is deleted with it. Your scripts are included in your device backups (iCloud or local) under the settings you control in iOS, like any other app's data.
Bluetooth
Rolltake uses Bluetooth LE only to connect a teleprompter remote so it can control scrolling. Only button presses travel over that connection. No script content or personal data is sent to the remote, and nothing about your remote or its use leaves your device.
Camera, microphone, and recordings
If you use Rolltake to record yourself while you read, the app accesses your camera and microphone only during recording, and only after iOS asks your permission. Your video is written directly to your device and never uploaded, streamed, or sent anywhere. When you choose to save a recording, it goes to your Photos library through the standard iOS save, and from there it is yours to keep, share, or delete. Rolltake does not read your existing photos or videos.
File access
Rolltake reads a .txt or .md file only when you pick it yourself through the system file picker. It never scans your files or accesses anything you didn't choose. Exporting uses the standard iOS share sheet; where the exported text goes is entirely up to you.
Third parties
Rolltake contains no third-party SDKs, ad networks, or analytics tools. No data is shared with anyone, because none is collected.
Changes
If a future version of Rolltake ever changes any of this, this policy will be updated first and the change noted here.
