A teleprompter that records the take

Running a prompter in one app and the camera in another means switching mid-take, or filming a second device. Rolltake does both: the script scrolls over the front camera, the reading line sits under the lens, and the video saves straight to Photos.

How recording works

Open a script, enter the prompter, and tap record. The front camera preview shows behind the text so you can check framing while the script scrolls. What gets saved is the camera feed alone. Text, reading line, and controls are never burned in.

Because the reading line sits just below the front camera, your eyes stay within a few degrees of the lens. Viewers see someone talking to them, not someone reading.

Built for one-take videos

Pause and resume from the phone, an Apple Watch, or a Bluetooth remote. Both the scroll and the recording pause together, so a mid-script fix doesn't cost you a restart. Open the editor from inside the prompter, change the line, and pick up where you stopped.

Speed, text size, margins, typeface, and color theme adjust live while recording. Set it once and Rolltake remembers per script.

Works with your existing rig

Shooting on a mirrorless camera instead? Use Rolltake as a standalone prompter mounted above the lens, or turn on mirror mode for a beam-splitter hood. The recording feature is there when you want it, not required.

Frequently asked questions

Does the teleprompter text show up in my recording?

No. Rolltake records the camera feed only. The script and reading line are drawn on screen for you, never into the video.

Where do recordings save?

To your iPhone Photos library, as standard video files you can edit in any app.

Can I record in portrait for Shorts and Reels?

Yes. Rolltake records in the orientation you hold the phone. Portrait is the default for vertical video.

Can I pause the recording and continue?

Yes. Pause from the phone, an Apple Watch, or a Bluetooth remote. The scroll and the recording pause together.

Does recording cost extra?

No. Camera recording is included in the free app at launch, with no subscription or in-app purchase.
